Neo and Trinity died in the third part of the “Matrix” Trilogy.
Find out here why you can be part of “The Matrix Resurrections” again.
The Matrix Resurrections:
In 2003 ” The Matrix Revolutions ” came out and brought the plot of the film trilogy to a close. The Matrix received a full reboot and Neo (Keanu Reeves) and Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) sacrificed themselves for humanity . With that in mind, it’s actually a surprise that both Reeves and Moss return in their iconic roles in the fourth Matrix film, ” The Matrix Resurrections “. So how can that be possible in the sequel?
A quick look back: Trinity and Neo both died on the way to and in the city of machines. Trinity was pierced by an iron rod after her ship crashed, and Neo was eventually killed by Agent Smith in the Matrix.
Neo’s death was actually inspiring for some of the machines . A new faction of machines revere Neo and Trinity for their sacrifice and devotion.
The machines then, at the analyst’s instruction, took their bodies and began reconstructing them and repairing their injuries . In addition, their bodies even received some modifications. For example, their connections in their back, which enable the connection to the matrix, are larger and more efficient.
The analyst used the connection between Neo and Trinity as the basis for creating the new matrix.
So when the machines revived Neo and Trinity, they realized that this duality was able to extract most of the energy from the people trapped in the matrix in order to ensure the survival of the machines. Therefore, the new matrix was created on the model of Neos and Trinity’s longing .
So the two of them are alive and well in “The Matrix Resurrections”, but more importantly, their revival is the tragic cornerstone of the film’s plot . The return of Neo and Trinity was also a catalyst for the resurrection of the Matrix and at the same time a new hope for the people living outside the Matrix.
At the beginning of the film, Captain Bugs (Jessica Henwick) says, “Most people think Neo is dead. But I know he isn’t because I saw him. The moment he looked at me, I sensed how something freed my mind. ” Seeing Neo trying to break his loop in the Matrix inspired her to meet him.
